Year 2 Executive Team - 2025
Hi everyone,
My name is Claire Hulan-Beck, and I am very excited to be running for VP of Communications with FESA. For those of you who don't know me, I am a student in the junior/intermediate division and my teachables are in general sciences.
Based on my previous experience on the FESA executive team, and my prior work managing communications for other student associations, I am confident that my skills will allow me to succeed in this position. In this role, my primary goal is to improve communication between FESA and the students of the BEd. program. This means regular emails, monthly newsletters, and frequent social media updates detailing upcoming events! I also plan to update our website so we may extend our outreach as a student association. In my role as an executive member, I am also eager to work alongside other FESA executive members to support our student body!
Thank you for your time, and I hope you consider voting Claire for VP of Communications!
Hi! My name is Camryn, and I am running to be your Year 2 Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Executive. As an Education student, I know that fostering inclusive learning environments begins with us—the future educators of tomorrow. Representation, accessibility, and equity in education are not optional; they are essential to building an education system that serves everyone.
My experience in working with various groups such as Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ottawa, chairing the Multicultural Society of my High School as well as being the Co-Chair of my High School’s Mind Your Mind (Mental Health) Club, volunteering with the Ottawa Food Bank, and various volunteer programs within the City of Ottawa’s Inclusive Recreation department have given me a range of opportunities in working alongside a range of identities and voices. I feel enriched by working alongside people of all walks of life and backgrounds, which have aided me in becoming the individual I am today and have brought me new perspectives in creating my beliefs and values I hold dear.
If elected as your Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Executive, I will work to ensure that all students, regardless of background, ability, race, gender, or identity, feel valued, supported, and empowered within our faculty and across campus.
I believe that change starts with listening, learning, and taking action. With your support, I will advocate for meaningful policies and initiatives that reflect the diversity of our university community.
Let’s build a faculty where diversity isn’t just acknowledged—it’s celebrated!

Hi everyone! I’m Sophia Aiello, and I’m excited to be running for Year 2 Co-Chair of FESA! Serving as your Year 1 Co-Chair has been an incredibly rewarding experience, and I want to continue fostering an inclusive and connected community for all B.Ed. students. I am committed to ensuring that every teacher candidate’s voice is heard, FESA remains transparent and organized, and our initiatives reflect the needs of our student body. If elected, I will advocate for student concerns, facilitate open communication, and plan more events that bring our B.Ed. community together. I believe in strong leadership that listens, supports, and takes action, and I would love the opportunity to continue representing you in the 2025-2026 school year!
Hey Everyone! My name is Cassandra DeSouza and I’m super excited to be running for VP of finance (year 2) for the coming year! Next year I will be a second year in the junior/intermediate division with math being my teachable subject. Some of you may know that I was in the banking
industry for the last 10 years, which ultimately led me to teaching because my passion has always been in educating my clients. However, most of you wouldn’t know that during
that time I ran our branch planning committee. I was responsible for managing the budget for the largest branch in Ottawa, planning monthly events, planning larger quarterly events, etc... I believe that my experience while managing the branches finances and running the planning committee has prepared me to help FESA with all things finance related next year.
If I am elected to be part of FESA I would find ways to ensure other VPs are able to use their budgets effectively to accomplish their goals and create plenty of memorable events for us next year! I would also work collaboratively with all VPs to ensure the budget was divided well to ensure we (FESA) can fulfill our main goals for next year. I hope to be elected as your VP of finance next year so we’re able to work together to make next year one of the best we’ve had!
Hello, Bachelor of Education students! My name is Noah Peters, and I am running for the position of Year 2 VP Social. In my first year with FESA, I acted as the year one VP of Outreach, where I co-organized and ran several student-orientated events/initiatives, including a World Kindness Day celebration, a Practicum Primer, FESA's Breakfast Club, and the designing/ordering of Bachelor of Education merchandise.
Through my role as Year 2 VP Social, I would be able to run even more student-orientated events, consistently reaching out to the student body to ensure that these events are both of interest to you all, and accessible to you all. With your vote, I will ensure that the 2025-2026 Bachelor of Education students have an unforgettable year!
As VP Outreach, I will work to strengthen our connections and opportunities as teacher candidates. One of my top priorities is getting us affordable, high-quality Teacher Education merch that we’ll be proud to wear long after graduation. I will continue fostering the partnerships that have provided access to First Aid and CPR training while also supporting the previous VP Outreach’s efforts to connect us with organizations that promote education both locally and beyond. Additionally, I will work to secure sponsorships and partnerships that enhance FESA’s impact and bring meaningful benefits to our members by being a listening ear, tuned in to the needs of all B.Ed. students.
Hi everyone! My name is Chiara Lombardo, and I am thrilled to be running for the position of VP Academic Affairs. I am currently in my first year of the Primary/Junior stream in the Teacher Education program. Becoming a teacher has always been my dream, and I am deeply passionate about fostering safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environments — not only for the students we will teach but also for us as future educators.
If elected, my primary goal is to actively listen to your concerns and ensure your voices are heard. I am committed to advocating for meaningful changes that address your needs, whether that involves more accessible course materials, enhanced support during placements, or a more balanced workload. I understand how dedicated we all are to becoming exceptional teachers, and I want to make sure we feel supported and well-prepared every step of the way.
I also believe in the importance of making professional learning opportunities more practical and tailored to our needs. With the anticipated launch of the peer mentorship program next year, we will have a solid foundation for student support, and I am eager to build on that by organizing workshops and inviting guest speakers focused on the topics that matter most to you. Additionally, I see great value in establishing an ongoing, shared resource hub — a central space where education students can collaborate and exchange materials as we navigate this program. This hub could include lesson plans, classroom activities, teaching strategies, assessment tools, and resources that have proven helpful in our placements and coursework. By sharing our collective knowledge and creativity, we can save time, inspire one another, and feel more confident as we step into our placements and, eventually, our own classrooms.
Ultimately, my goal is to create an academic environment where every education student feels heard, supported, and set up for success. I would be honored to advocate for you as VP Academic Affairs. Thank you for your time and consideration.
